New Zealand Campervans and New Zealand Motorhome Hire
General Information Page
Driving in New Zealand:
EFFECTIVE 01 JUNE 2006:
All drivers with a non-English language licence must carry either an accurate English translation of this licence or an International Driving Permit [IDP] while driving. This is to help police determine that an overseas licence is valid, verify the driver holds the correct class for the vehicle, and check for any endorsements that may be attached to the licence.
The English translation referred to above must be issued by one of the following:
The New Zealand Translation service
A diplomatic representative at a high commission, embassy or consulate
The authority that issued the overseas drivers licence
I reconfirm that a normal car licence is all that is required to drive a campervan/motorhome vehicle in New Zealand,
